Have you ever noticed how long it takes to boil a pot of water, or how long it takes to heat a pool?  The reality is that heating liquid requires a lot of energy.  South Coast Solar’s two solar thermal products use the energy of the Sun to do this for you.  By heating the water for your home or business with solar energy, you will drastically reduce your dependance on fossil fuels, and nearly altogether bypass the utility company with regard to your hot water needs.

Solar thermal energy (or STE) is a technology for harnessing solar energy for heat. Solar thermal collectors are characterized by the US Energy Information Agency as low, medium, or high temperature collectors. Low temperature collectors are flat plates generally used to heat swimming pools. Medium-temperature collectors are also usually flat plates but are used for creating hot water for residential and commercial use. High temperature collectors concentrate sunlight using mirrors or lenses and are generally used for electric power production. This is different from solar photovoltaics, which convert solar energy directly into electricity.
