At SunPower by South Coast Solar, we understand the complexity and financial
implications involved with renewable energy incentives and tax benefits.
Our team, along with our project partners, will provide insight into which
programs and incentives are available in order to maximize the benefits
to each project.
As part of every potential project, SunPower by South Coast Solar will
provide an estimate for your home once we determine several factors. Every
home is different and each home consumes different amounts of energy.
The first thing we look at is your energy bill to help determine how many
kW's you consume on a monthly or annual basis. We can design systems to
offset different amounts of energy, but there are some factors that may
limit the design and the production of the system.
First, having a good south facing roof is optimal, but east and west facing
roofs can produce good amounts of energy as well. Second, we need to determine
if there is shading that may impact the performance of the system. This
video will help explain the significance of shading and how it impacts
the production of a solar system.
Once we determine what size system will work for your home based on available
roof space and shading, we create and estimate. In the solar industry,
companies use the terminology price per watt, which means the dollar amount
it cost to purchase 1 watt of energy. Over the past 10 years pricing has
dropped on solar systems and the average price for a system will vary
based on manufacturers, but the cost of a system can range from the $3
- $5 dollars per watt. For example, a 5000 watt of 5 kW system could range
from $15,000 to $25,000 installed before any tax credits or rebates are applied.
